1. The service and the service provider

Rentora (rentora.fi) is an online service where users can list tools, vehicles and spaces for rent and rent them from each other. The service is provided by VMH Group Oy (Business ID 2947305-5), Koivutie 1, 33960 Pirkkala, Finland, info@rentora.fi.

Rentora is an intermediary service. The rental agreement is made between the renter and the owner, and is governed by standard rental terms and any additional terms set by the owner. Rentora is not a party to the rental agreement, does not own or inspect the items for rent, and is not responsible for their condition, safety or legality, or for the parties fulfilling their obligations.

3. Listings

4. Payments and prices

4 b. Paid add-on services

5. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations are subject to the standard rental terms and the cancellation terms shown on the listing. Refunds are paid via Stripe. Rentora holds the payment until the end of the rental period before paying it out to the owner. Rentora may also issue a refund in a dispute if the booking evidently did not take place.

5 b. Bookings on the owner's own website

An owner may show their items on their own website (e.g. with the WordPress plugin) and, if the feature is enabled on the owner's account, the renter can book and pay for the item directly on the owner's site. Even then, the booking is made through the Rentora service and these terms and the standard rental terms apply: the payment is processed through Rentora, and payouts, cancellations and refunds are handled as in other bookings. The owner's website is not a party to the agreement, and Rentora is not responsible for the other content of the site.

The renter can book without registering separately. A Rentora account is created with the email address the renter provides and the booking is linked to it; the renter can sign in to the account with a sign-in link sent by email. The renter accepts these terms when booking.

6. Users' obligations

7. Limitation of liability and indemnification

Rentora provides the service "as is" and gives no warranty whatsoever regarding the service, listings, users or items for rent.

To the extent permitted by law, Rentora is not liable for any damage arising from the use of the service or the inability to use it, including:

If Rentora's liability cannot be fully excluded due to mandatory law, Rentora's total liability is limited to the amount the user has paid to Rentora in service fees during the 12 months preceding the damage. The limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence and do not restrict a consumer's rights under mandatory law.

User's liability for damages. The user is responsible for their own actions, listings and rentals and agrees to indemnify Rentora and hold Rentora harmless from all claims, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the user's listing, rental, breach of these terms or the law, or any third-party claim based on the user's actions.

Claims concerning the rented item or the rental agreement must be made against the other party to the rental agreement. A claim against Rentora must be made in writing within six months of when the grounds for the claim were discovered or should have been discovered.

8. Closing an account

Users can stop using the service by contacting info@rentora.fi. Rentora may close an account if the user breaches these terms or the law, repeatedly cancels bookings, or their actions endanger the safety of other users. Ongoing bookings are handled in accordance with the terms.

9. Personal data

Personal data is processed privacy policy in accordance with it.

10. Changes to the terms and governing law

Rentora may change the terms. Users will be notified of material changes at least 14 days in advance by email or in the service. The terms are governed by Finnish law. A consumer may refer a dispute with Rentora to the Consumer Disputes Board or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
